familia send their thoughts and prayers to Oscar's family." CLYDE STACY & JUSTIN MATNEY, CO-OWNERS AND DRIVERS FOR RPM RACING "Oscar was always available and ready to deal with any issue we had when racing in Mexico. He was at his best handling our situations that would arise from time to time. We will miss him as will our entire team." NICO SAAD, OWNER OF SAN NICOLAS HOTEL, ENSENADA, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO/LONGTIME BAJA CALIFORNIA TOURISM OFFICIAL "I met Oscar at his first raceā€¦ Sal (Fish) introduced him to me. Oscar was barely out of College with his Law Degree and was invited by the Baja California State Tourism Office to assist the growing the popularity of SCORE Racing. For many years along-side of Sal, Oscar was the involved with the international media and all negotiations with our Government." "He was the racer and sponsor's best friend which really helped SCORE, including guiding the legal aspects of racing in Mexico. That was not easy considering every three years there were new mayors and every six years a Governor plus all the other new government officials and all the police, fire and security agencies involved. Oscar was always doing his homework and looking forward to introduce the sport to all the officials with his traditional big hug and smile. Maybe in his position sometimes he was misunderstood but the sport never took a step backwards and the show is still going strong." "All we can say is that SCORE desert racing lost a great friend and supporter. Our love goes out to all his family and friends." B.J. BALDWIN, FOUR-TIME SCORE TROPHY TRUCK SEASON POINT CHAMPION "I am personally deeply saddened to hear the news about Oscar Ramos passing away after his short but brutal battle with cancer. Oscar worked with desert racing's premier sanctioning body SCORE International, for over 20 years." "Oscar was the Mexican Liaison for SCORE, an assisting race director, SCORE's attorney, and he was legal representative for pretty much everyone that got in trouble in Mexico at any time. He wore a lot of hats for SCORE and he kept a lot of us out of trouble. Oscar was a very intelligent guy, a hard worker and he did so much for SCORE desert racing over the last 20 years. He was an incredible asset to the SCORE family. Oscar was a great person and I dealt with him on many occasions. He will be missed dearly by many, myself at the top of the list." EPILOGUE I too, like so many others, am saddened and shocked by his passing, especially when it seemed like all was good as he was on recovery road, one day at a time. Ever vigilant in working the many pieces that are integral parts of the SCORE race puzzle, Oscar and I even exchanged e-mails and shared a phone call on his final day on this earth. You can only guess, but he initiated the dialogue with questions that he needed answers for regarding an upcoming SCORE race. Our e-mails and phone call were all while he was in the middle of a chemo therapy which he said took his mind off of the painful process of getting better. While many people are praised posthumously, these words and comments made since his passing are ones that people have said throughout the many years they knew him. This Mr. Ramos may not have ever been a star of screen or stage, but in the annals of SCORE desert racing, he will always be the one who captured our 'Oscar' for best role as a supporting friend and supporting co-worker in the dust to glory legacy of SCORE International. SJ "ALL WE CAN SAY IS THAT SCORE DESERT RACING LOST A GREAT FRIEND AND SUPPORTER. OUR LOVE GOES OUT TO ALL HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS." 024 SCORE JOURNAL
