EDUARDO "LALO" LAGUNA AGE: 24 HOME TOWN: Mexicali, Baja Calfornia CLASS: Unlimited Trophy Truck. BACKGROUND: Laguna is a soft spoken 24 year old from Mexicali, Baja California, who won this year's 2015 Inaugural Bud Light SCORE Baja Sur 500. Laguna is driven by goals and his is to claim the number one plate for his Trophy Truck as the season Champion. Currently fourth in points, look for Laguna to make a hard charge at the 2015 SCORE Imperial Valley 250 and SCORE Baja 1000 to try and claim that plate. FAVORITE SCORE BAJA MEMORY: Laguna has many fond memories of racing in Baja but his favorite is from the 2010 Baja 1000. "Back in the day, I spent four full days with my dad, camping and prerunning. It was great to spend time with my family at the race." Laguna is also a fan of the terrain and beauty of Baja. " The best thing about racing in Baja is that you get to see all the beautiful places and landscapes and you get to drive into the unknown." IAN YOUNG AGE: 21 HOME TOWN: Oceanside, CA CLASS: Pro Motorcycle BACKGROUND: Ian Yong said that his mother told him that as soon as he could ride a bicycle without training wheels, he could get a motorcycle. So by the age of three, Young got on a dirt-bike and competed in his first race at four. As the younger brother of Colton Udall, Young has spent a lot of time in his brother's shadow but in 2015 he struck out on his own and went on to be successful. "What makes me fast is learning from my experiences and the people around me," says Young. "I've learned things like, don't go where you can't see, going fast enough but also just slow enough, and to be able to react to any situation. My dad told this motto that I go by; eagle eyes, kitten hands, ballerina feet."Young has shared victory in Baja but this year he is looking to get a win in his own name. FAVORITE SCORE BAJA MEMORY: "My favorite Baja memory was pre-running in 2012 with Kurt Caselli, Timmy Weigand and Eric Yorba. We got on the bikes at midnight and were running from Insurgentes to La Paz. I was in third and Kurt was in the back. It was late and my light wasn't very good so I was just cruising," says Young. "All of a sudden I saw my shadow start to bounce and I knew Kurt coming up behind me. All of a sudden I look to my left and Kurt is jumping off a rise, he jumped about 40 feet and landed a foot into the bushes. He landed it, pinned it out and rode away. I thought it was the coolest thing in the entire world. At our next fuel stop I put my helmet on the truck, walked over and said Kurt, can I have your autograph?" 035 SCORE JOURNAL
