it demonstrates the popularity of the UTV class as well as the growth of the aftermarket seg- ment that has excited manufac- turers to build and market new products for these vehicles. Many side-by-side manufac- turers, as well as aftermarket component manufacturers, are seeking to get exposure on race vehicles to sell products to reg- ular UTV owners. So right now is a great time for racers and teams participating in SCORE, as there are many sponsorship and prod- ucts available to support them. "We think the future of SCORE's PRO Stock UTV Class 19 will be pushed forward from man- ufacturer battles," says Murray. "Different brands are one-upping each other. As an example, we're getting more horsepower from CanAm with the introduction of their new turbo. The new vehicle also has a better suspension, and overall better handling equip- ment. Other manufacturers are coming out with bigger motors to compete. So as manufacturers bring out more performance, we (teams) benefit from it." " I see the Class 19 as being the number one class for the cost," says Burnett." You will see the car change so much that for the price, everybody will want to race in this class. It will be more cost effective and the cars will be way, way faster. I'm definitely look- ing forward to what the future holds." SJ CATCHING AIR, YOU CAN SEE THE 13-INCHES OF SUSPENSION TRAVEL ON THE CAN-AM OF CORY SAPPINGTON FROM PEORIA, AZ. "THE CARS ARE GOING TO BE FASTER AND HAVE A BETTER SUSPENSION THAN MOST CLASSES. PRETTY SOON WE WILL NOT BE CALLED THE GOLF CART CLASS ANYMORE. IT'S AMAZING HOW MUCH FASTER THE CARS ARE NOW AND WE ONLY EXPECT THEM TO GET FASTER AND BETTER." _ MARC BURNETT 085 SCORE JOURNAL
