In Williams' first two seasons there, Robinson won only three games, but improvement came. Wil- liams gained 35 pounds before his ju- nior year, and his rise coincided with his team's. The Knights were 20-6 his last two seasons. During those years, Williams relished being the underdog, the same as he does at Purdue. "Nobody believed in us, because we were a smaller team," he said. "Nobody believed in us, because we weren't the highest recruits. We just had grit and we had a togetherness and a mindset that we weren't going to be stopped. "And it's the same thing (here), that's why I love Purdue. My senior year (at Robinson), Purdue went 4-8, and I just came here and was like 'I don't want to be somewhere where they've already been winning.' You're just another num- ber. I want to be somewhere where I can change a program and (ESPN's) '30 for 30' (documentary) will call you in a cou- ple years. That's what I think about." Brown feels that intensity reverber- ating off his teammate. "He's just got that mentality like 'You aren't going to stop me,' that mentality like he's a dog," Brown said. "That's what I like about him. No matter how hard it is, he isn't going to give up. He's going to fight for his teammates."
