WHY NOW?
Sooner or later, every golf course
is faced with rebuilding their
bunkers that have deteriorated.
There are numerous factors in
determining what needs to be
done, but on a bunker-by-bunker
case. The following are a few of
the most common problems you
may be facing with your current
bunkers:
• Edges may be deteriorated;
• Lack of adequate drainage;
• Water movement into bunker;
• Out of date/old;
• Sand may be contaminated;
• Poor initial construction and
shaping;
• Lack of or loss of character;
• Excessive sand buildup on
grass perimeter.
Before you consider making
any bunker renovations, it would
be advantageous and a common
courtesy to contact the original
course architect if possible.
They would be the first option
in determining what needs to
be done with each bunker. They
will consider how the bunkers
relate to the overall context of the
course with regards to strategy,
placement, style and character. If
