rv-pro.com SEPTEMBER 2015 • RV PRO • 25 Forest River Open House founder Forest River will host its eighth annual Open House from Sept. 22 to Sept. 24 on the grounds adjoining the Dynamax Division facility on County Road 6. Show hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sept. 22 and Sept. 23 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 24. Sponsors anticipate another record-setting event with more than 500 units displayed. Forest River has amended its sponsorship for Open House week, assigning travel expenses to the attending dealers and cutting back on hotel room reimbursements. Still, those changes don't seem to inhibit interest. Through the end of July, dealer registrations were running ahead of the 2014 event, says event coordinator Lisel Plunkett. The company will host parties with nationally known enter- tainers the nights of Sept. 22 and 23. The following are highlights of Forest River's display. Coachmen: Coachmen's popular Mirada gas Class A motorhome now has a new "sibling," the Mirada Select. The Mirada Select offers diesel amenities in a gas-powered coach and features Snap- stone tile floors, full kitchen backsplash, full-body paint and Azdel composite substrate sidewalls. Available in three floorplans, the Mirada Select offers three interior wood choices and three designer decors. GM Pat Terveer predicts an optional Salon bunk over the dinette and sofa will be a popular selection in specific floorplans. Additionally Coachmen's Class A's will feature several new gas and diesel floorplans, as well as new decors and graphics. Forest River doesn't offer a Class B motorhome, but rumor has it that Coachmen may be coming out with a new, high-end Class B – its first since the van industry was in its heyday – to be unveiled at Open House. Coachmen's Class C division has expanded its popular Free- lander line by utilizing Ford's new 3.7-liter Transit chassis. This new model will have a traditional cab-over Class C profile, but at Coachmen will debut two new floorplans on its Sprinter-based Prism, one of which is a double slide and the other will feature a wall that slides out of a cabinet, giving customers a different twist on slide-out technology.
