September 9, 2015 Dear Members, While it is hard to believe that another summer has passed, there is much golf still to be played and the approaching cooler temperatures will come as a relief for both our players as well as our course. The past few months have been a beehive of activity for golf. For the first time we held a separate tournament for our Senior men. Congratulations to Mike Fernie for winning this event. Over the Labour Day weekend our Men's club championship winner was Brad Chisholm. The previous weekend the Ladies held their championship and Tania Clancy came out victorious. Congratulations to all the members who won their respective flights. This summer we hosted the Canadian LPGA championship which was won by Brooke Henderson. Shortly after winning here she was triumphant at a LPGA event in Oregon and was granted her tour card! For those of you who had the opportunity to watch and meet Brooke, you know that she is a down to earth young lady and we are confident of her success on the LPGA tour. The 30 th annual Burlington Golf and Country Club golf tournament for the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation was held on August 6 th . The highlight of this event was the sight of the Burlington Teen Tour band marching down the 17 th fairway! If you have not already done so please check out the latest edition of the Tattler for some great photos of this memorable event. Moving forward, on September 28 th our club will once again be hosting the Burlington High School golf tournament. There have been some concerns noted that this reduction of Initiation fees could cause an access to the tee issue. Note that there are still caps for both "A" and "B" members. Therefore if those categories are full, the applicant will be placed on a waitlist which will eventually make our club stronger. The Trial
