LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION Dear The Wolverine: In reference to the, "Utah Dead Ahead" article in September, page 31, sixth paragraph "… at No. 1 Ohio State." Who could forget that 1969 autumn day in Ann Arbor? The OSU individ- ual writhing next to me at THE Michi- gan Stadium had scratched the back of his hand open by halftime and left, never to return. It was a special day even for my first daughter, in utero, (U-M '93). T h a n k y o u Henry Hill for the f o u r t h - a n d - o n e Jim Otis tackle that turned the game around, in Ann Arbor. Thank you Barry Pearson, thank you Tom Curtis , thank you Jim Mandich, et al. Bruce J. Boss Boyne City, Mich. Bruce, we're very aware of the venue for that iconic game, despite the glitch in the wording of that line. We appreciate the memories, and will never forget Bo Schembechler's finest moment … in Ann Arbor. • November 15, 2008. My wife and I had traveled up to Palo Alto to watch our son play against Stanford. The year before when our son's team was ranked No. 1 in the country, Stanford shocked them in the Coliseum, 24-23. That team was coached by Jim Harbaugh. Stanford, like some other schools, had a tradition where the fully suited players walked through campus before the game. My son had a friend that had played both little league baseball and football with him who had trans- ferred from USD (with Harbaugh) and was now trying to make the Stanford squad. Of course, I have a long relationship with Jimmy (on multiple fronts). So my wife and I waited in the lines that formed where the players would walk by. When the team approached, it was led by their captains. About 10 guys in was Jim, and he was followed by my son's friend. My wife hollered out to the player and he came over to say hello.
