ichigan's 76-yard rushing per-
formance on 29 carries (2.6-yard
average) in the season opener against
Utah marked the 24th time since the
start of the 2005 season the Wolverines
failed to hit the 100-yard mark in a
game.
Their struggles drew heavy criti-
cism from media and fans, and even
head coach Jim Harbaugh, who sin-
gled out Michigan's interior guards
for playing with poor leverage against
the Utes.
U-M responded to the challenge,
though, accumulating 225 yards on 48
attempts (4.7-yard average) in beating
Oregon State Sept. 12 and 254 yards
on 39 carries (6.5-yard average) in the
MICHIGAN FOOTBALL
