03 SCORE JOURNAL S CORE international continues to expand our race experience and brand exposure for desert racing and off-road motorsports. After many meetings and a lot of work, SCORE is excited to announce the 2016 SCORE International World Desert Championship Season. Listening to SCORE racer, sponsors and fans, we have made adjustments to improve the 2016 race events timing and venues. Based on this thought process, SCORE will be producing the entire 2016 season race venues in Baja, MX starting with the SCORE San Felipe 250, now moved back to the traditional February date. This race will also be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of this great season opener, a feat few race venues can claim. SCORE Baja Sur 500 race returns after a great inaugural race in 2015. The 2016 race will again take place in the Southern State of Baja and will be a loop race run out of the great city of La Paz! The iconic SCORE Baja 500 and 1000 races return for their traditional race dates in June and November. SCORE International's new venue for the 2016 season will be held in the resort city of Rosarito Beach, Baja, MX in mid-September and will be run as multiple lap "Desert Challenge". This great area is just a short distance from the US / MX border and will actually stage the start and finish on the beach! See more details in the SCORE News and Calendar sections in this issue. As we continue to build the foundation for the history making SCORE Baja 1000 50th Anniversary in November 2017, we are extremely proud to able to announce the making of Dust 2 Glory as the long awaited follow-up to the highly acclaimed Dust to Glory movie produced and released over 10 years ago! The impact the first movie had on SCORE International, the perception of off-road motorsports, the racer base, SCORE global fan base and the off-road industry in general are well known. This great project will initiate filming at this year's Baja 1000 and will continue to document the entire SCORE International 2016 Season! The Dust 2 Glory is currently planned for a 2017 mid-year theatrical release as we build excitement for the SCORE Baja 1000 50th Anniversary! In This Issue This issue showcases two extreme landmarks that not only impact SCORE International but the history and future of off-road motorsports. We have a great story on the event and individuals that literally started it all. The Ekins brothers, Dave and Bud, and their historic trip down the Baja Peninsula in 1962 and additional efforts! Witten by renowned off-road motorcycle journalist, Mark Kariya, the story presents great insight and info on what it took to be the trailblazer for an entire industry and world enthusiast market. In addition to the great photography, please view the great "sit- down" video with Dave Ekins as he describes what it took to make this run down the peninsula the great event we know of today. Highlighting the future, we have an exclusive look at the next generation 4x4 Trophy Truck of Justin Matney and the RPM Off-Road Team. See all the details of this Geiser built next generation vehicle and the photographic details. Will this be the much sought after system for the next generation championship platform?
