He just has to learn how to put it to-
gether on a consistent basis."
Consistency is Edwards' focus.
As a freshman, there were mo-
ments he'd check out and not be as
dialed in as he should have been, he
said. There were great games and
not-so-good ones, too many highs
and lows, he said. There were games
he didn't fight hard enough to combat
fatigue or adversity, he said.
As a sophomore this season, that
can't happen.
And, if his dedication in the offsea-
son is any indication, it won't.
"I don't want to be that guy we can
depend on one night and then the
next night it's like, 'Well, we don't
know what we're going to get out of
him.' I want to be the guy that night
in and night out my teammates can
depend on as far as leadership and
being out there on the court and
making the right decision or right
plays and talking on defense, every
little thing that's possible," Edwards
said. "Even if I'm on the bench, en-
couraging guys or talking to Coach
about things I see out there. Night in,
night out, I just want to be that guy
my team can lean on and be able to
depend on to help produce.
"I think I can be. Just having the
experience I had last year and the
work I put in this year, I feel like I'm
preparing myself and my body for a
good year, not individually but just
the team as well. I feel like I've been
doing the right things to get myself
ready for our team and for us to have
a great year."
