Point guard, that's about it. That position is the only urgent, non-negotiable need. The Boilermaker coaching staff filled that require- ment when it landed a commitment from the Houston area's Carsen Edwards, a high-scoring, sharp-shoot- ing 6-foot combo guard who'll be slotted to play the point in college. "They told me they haven't had a player like me in a while at the point guard position, a player who can score the ball as well," Edwards said. "They said they'd like to have a player like that and they need- ed a point guard to come in and compete and maybe make an impact as a freshman. I felt like that's where I should go." Edwards, who chose Purdue over offers from Van- derbilt, Virginia Tech, Baylor, Kansas State, SMU and a host of others, may have filled Purdue's only press- ing need for 2016, but he will almost certainly not be the Boilermakers' only addition.
