a good 10 or 11 rotation – you're going to have injuries
here or there – but they're very important for our spring-
board and to do some things for us."
Q. Do you like this schedule for this team?
Versyp: "Yeah, it's going to be a tough one, (though)
nobody thinks it is. Don't listen to fans. The Thanksgiv-
ing tournament is real intense. Boston College is coming
in and they're better than everybody thinks. Dayton and
Ball State (too), so it's not a really easy schedule, but we
do have a lot of home games, which you need for a young
team. We only have three seniors and are really loaded in
the inexperienced groups, so having home games is im-
portant, especially going into an 18-game Big Ten season."
Q. Considering last season, do you set the
same landmark goals that Purdue usually
has?
Q. "Well, everybody has landmarks, you don't need to
talk about that. There's nothing to talk about that way. ...
You don't talk about 10 years from now or a year from now,
but we know what Purdue basketball is supposed to be,
that's why these women are here. But in order to do those
things, we're talking about all the things we talked about,
that's what matters.
"(We talk about) your team comes first, you're the
best-conditioned team, you love and care and serve your
teammates, and the rest takes care of itself because then
you play together and have fun and things work out. There's
no individuals or selfish play on the court."
Q. If all those things come together, then
the end result will be …
Versyp: "That's what it's always been here."
