10 GOLD AND BLACK ILLUSTRATED Keys To The Season 5 Luck: As is the case for just about any team, any year. It's really difficult to win conference championships and make deep post- season runs. Sometimes, it just takes a little good fortune, luck of the draw so to speak, health or whatever else. 4 Chemistry: Purdue is in- troducing a few potentially big pieces to its puzzle in Johnny Hill, Caleb Swanigan and other new- comers, on top of a core that's already growing organically into something impressive. This group will have to mesh well, obviously. 3 Health: Purdue looks like it has the deepest roster Matt Painter has had, but there are players on this team the Boilermakers won't be able to win big without. Purdue needs its shooting guards healthy, for one thing, which brings us to ... 2 Shooting: Purdue didn't shoot the ball as well as it expected to a year ago, but won anyway until the problem caught up with it in the NCAA Tournament. Here's guessing that healthier shooters equals better shooting, but nothing can be taken for granted. 1 Turnovers: The Boilermakers led the Big Ten in turnovers last season. Big men are going to turn the ball over. That's a fact of life, but Purdue's can be better.
