FALL2015 7 P layers Indoor Sports in Naperville, Illinois, recently advertised their BubbleBall program with Groupon. Customers had a choice between a one-hour or a two-hour field rental, complete with 12 Bubble Balls and a referee, for about half the going rate. "The Groupon brought in 200 people," says owner Maxine Appenbrink. "People love it. They have a lot of fun." Wearable inflatables are quite the novelty. USIndoor has two corporate members that provide them, BubbleBall and KnockerBall. Both companies have designed games to be played in the inflatables. Although some people are interested in playing soccer, when they get onto the field, most players simply want to knock each other over, which, of course, is the fun of wearing a giant inflatable ball. BubbleBall games include Sumo Smash and Zombie Ball, and KnockerBall games include Last Man Standing and Protect the General. Players Indoor Sports has discovered that a corporate event or a birthday party is most successful when there are plenty of guests to substitute for those who get hot and tired.
