Designed specifically for North America, the Joker HD features larger disc blades, making it a specialist for shallow fall tillage in areas of high residue and extreme soil conditions. The most noticeable change is the increased disc diameter. With a 20-percent larger blade, the Joker HD is able to quickly size and blend residue down to a maximum operating depth of 6 inches. The larger diameter blades continue to be mounted in pairs, resulting in greater residue flow and increased stability of the blade angles. The 24-inch discs have also moved to a six-bolt hub on a newly designed, heavier bearing. The distance between the two rows of discs has been increased on the Joker HD. This change gives the residue and soil additional time to reach the surface to be cut a second time, ensuring the residue is sized properly to accelerate the decomposition process. n EVERGREEN IMPLEMENT 509-346-8300 www.eiijd.com Imants Spader Main tillage and seedbed preparation, possibly in combination with a planting machine, can now be done in a single pass. When using the rotary Imants Spader, the soil is thoroughly tilled without destroying its structure. When using the Imants Spader, the soil is spaded and huge amounts of organic matter can be incorporated. Organic matter is mixed into the top layer where oxygen is available and micro- organisms are able to break down the organic matter easily. This way straw, corn stubble, green manure and compost can be evenly incorporated. The rotating spade shaft pushes the spader forward. This results in no wheel slippage. It also requires a lower-horsepower tractor with lower fuel consumption per acre. Combining the Imants Spader with a seeder or planter eliminates an additional pass over the field. A three-point hitch is available for a Category 2 machine; a simplified hitch is also available for a pneumatic seeder. The wheels of this new pull-type carrier are centered in the middle and spaced to leave a perfect seedbed, so no wheel tracks remain after a pass. n UNVERFERTH MANUFACTURING CO. INC. 419-532-3121 www.umequip.com Rolling Harrow Model 1245 Soil Conditioner Unverferth Manufacturing Co. announces the introduction of the model 1245 Rolling Harrow soil conditioner. Its exclusive basket design features notched end- and center-discs for greater soil penetration and extended-depth blades for maximum life. The model 1245 adds to the Rolling Harrow soil finisher's three-decades long tradition of aggressive, scalloped and angled front basket blades coupled with passive rear rollers for the smoothest, firmest seedbed possible. This combination leaves finer soil particles at planting depth and coarser soil on the top to resist crusting. They're available in working widths of 32 to 63 feet in cross-folding and vertical-folding design for a narrow transport width. The Rolling Harrow model 1245 soil conditioner features 12.5-inch diameter baskets with a 1 5/8-inch center shaft for full-width basket support. The baskets are robotically welded for unparalleled manufacturing consistency and enhanced longevity.
