Bring STAR to your rink to train your staff Would you like to provide an exclusive training course for your ice rink operations staff? STAR is offering the opportunity to bring one of our Certified Ice Technician (CIT), Certified Rink Administrator (CRA), or SIRO courses to your rink during a time of year that works best for you and your colleagues. CIT recertification in 2016 Individuals who have been awarded the Certified Ice Technician (CIT) professional designation by STAR are required to recertify every five years from the year their CIT was originally achieved. Individuals who were awarded their CIT in the years 2003 – 2011, and have not already successfully completed the CIT Recertification course, and/or passed the CIT recertification exam in the last five years will be required to recertify in 2016 in order to maintain their CIT professional designation. The CIT Recertification exam will be offered in May at the 2016 North American Rink Conference and Expo, and at each STAR Regional Training Program location June through November. STAR supports the Progressive Skate America - ISU Grand Prix of Skating STAR staff members John Monteleone & Cory Portner installed the ice at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena and worked as ice technicians for the ISU Progressive Skate America figure skating competition held October 23-25 in Milwaukee.
