HIGHER LEARNING NORTH SHORE COMMUNITY COLLEGE North Shore Community College—where all are welcome and each is challenged. For nearly 50 years, North Shore Community College has provided convenient access to affordable excellence in education. Award-winning faculty and committed staff, coupled with cutting edge technology and student support, make NSCC the first choice for thousands of North Shore residents looking for degree and certificate programs, continuing education, life-long learning and career training. To date, more than 92% of NSCC's 31,000 graduates live and work on the North Shore and 96% of NSCC graduates are employed within three months of graduation. "NSCC has been designated a Military Friendly School by the national organization, GI Jobs." Half of all new jobs in Massachusetts now require an associate degree or higher. NSCC offers more than 80 associate degree and credit certificate programs and all learners have access to relevant, integrated, high quality career pathways that prepare them for the next level of education or career advancement. NSCC is committed to providing the training needed for the diverse workforce sectors of the North Shore region. More than 7,000 individuals and corporations have turned to NSCC's Institute of Corporate Training & Technology and the College's noncredit Division of Community Education each year for customized workforce training solutions and professional development opportunities. NSCC is a major resource for healthcare workforce development on the North Shore. To meet the demand for highly skilled healthcare workers, NSCC has expanded its Danvers Campus with the new Health Professions & Student Services building. The facility now provides state-of-the-art education and training in essential health profession programs including Nursing, Physical Therapy, Radiological Technology, Respiratory Care, Occupational Therapy, Surgical Technology, Medical Assisting and Animal Science— all high demand fields in a critical sector. Economic, Environmental and Societal Sustainability—implementing the goal. NSCC's new Health Professions & Student Services building is the Commonwealth's first state-owned Zero Net Energy Building (ZNEB), and second-largest ZNEB project in the country. The facility now provides on- site renewable energy (solar, geothermal, conservation), reduced carbon emissions and energy costs, and will also be used as a teaching tool to promote sustainability. NSCC students make a choice to succeed. At NSCC, we feel our greatest contribution is the continued achievement and success of our students, both academically and financially. NSCC's affordable tuition and fees allow students to avoid unnecessary student debt. For the Fall 2012 semester, tuition and fees total $162 per credit, with courses typically three credits each. Students who obtain their two-year associate degree at NSCC and transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a Bachelor's degree can cut their college costs in half. NSCC designated a Military Friendly School NSCC's veteran student numbers are surging—we serve approximately 400 US veterans and their families—and we have been designated a Military Friendly School by the national organization, GI Jobs, putting us among the top 15 percent of colleges which are doing the most to embrace America's veterans as students.
