PREP PROFILES Pembroke Pines (Fla.) Flanagan is a program loaded with talent. Two Michigan commits, defensive backs Josh Metellus and Devin Gil, play at the school, and the Wolverines are in the hunt for a third. Linebacker Devin Bush Jr., the son of Flanagan's head coach (and former Florida State safety) Devin Bush Sr., is one of the Maize and Blue's top remaining tar‑ gets. Bush has vis‑ ited Ann Arbor a few times — once i n t h e s p r i n g , again in the sum‑ mer, and for an unofficial visit to the Northwestern game Oct. 10. Ev‑ ery experience has been a good one for the standout. "When you go up there, it's just something you've never seen before," he raved. "They're really about their football up there, and they put every‑ thing they've got into their football program. It shows." Florida State and Auburn are other key contenders for the 5‑11, 224‑pounder, but the Seminoles may not have an advantage despite dad's history in Tallahassee. Devin Sr. has been open that he'd like his son to make his own decision, and connec‑ tions with the Michigan program — the elder Bush was the host of U‑M's South Florida satellite camp in June — gives the Wolverines a solid chance. It's easy to see why the two‑time Class 8A all‑state selection (first team as a junior, third‑team as a sopho‑ more) is so coveted as a prospect. "Flanagan linebacker Devin Bush lacks elite height, but continues to show why that isn't much of a con‑ cern," Rivals.com Southeast recruit‑ ing analyst Rob C a s s i d y s a i d . "Bush is sound f u n d a m e n t a l l y and plays with little regard for his own body. His closing speed is what makes him a high‑level pros‑ pect, and he's not bad in coverage, either." Bush's multiple visits to Ann Arbor — and his pair of teammates bound to be Wolverines — show just how strong the Maize and Blue are in his recruitment. He plans to take an offi‑ cial visit to Michigan before coming to his final decision. The timing depends upon his team's playoff run, but has to come soon: he intends to enroll early at the schools of his choice. "He was going to announce at the Under Armour Game, but then he changed his mind and now he may do it earlier to get it done with," Bush Sr. said. "It would get the pressure off of his shoulders and let him get ready for college." — Tim Sullivan Wolverines In The Mix For FSU Legacy ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ Charles W Flanagan H.S. Pembroke Pines, Fla.
