This year, Herrick Tree Farm in Boxford celebrates 50 years of growing Christmas trees for North Shore families to cut down for the holidays. They have approximately 4,000 trees on-site today. Smolak Farms planted 3,000 Christmas trees this year. They plan to sell over 750 cut-your-own trees and 1,400 pre-cut trees. ROCKPORT TURNS 100 OF ITS PARKING METERS INTO MINIATURE CHRISTMAS TREES. SANTA ARRIVES BY BOAT IN FIVE OF THE 15 COASTAL TOWNS ON THE NORTH SHORE. The Hawthorne Hotel serves approximately 600 Christmas dinners each year. They collect an average of 100 toys each year for Toys for Tots. And Julie Dougherty has been singing in the grand ballroom on Christmas Eve for more than 25 years.
