– THE RETURN
BY ALAN PARADISE
It seems hard to believe that
a decade has past since the
release of the original Dust
To Glory. This was certainly
an insightful and enjoyable
documentary about off-road
racing and perhaps one of the
finest films to cover any form
of motorsports. For 97 amazing
minutes, writer/director Dana
Brown immersed the audience
in the joy and agony that is
the SCORE Baja 1000. Seen
through the eyes of numerous
competitors in a wide range of
classes, it followed the plights
of those few that won and
many that found victory in the
accomplishment of simply
finishing the grueling ordeal.
The film was so well crafted
that even viewers that did
not have a great affinity for
the sport, came away with
an emotional attachment of
what it takes to attempt to do
something for the passion of
competition – not just with
other racers, but with the forces
of nature and diverse texture of
the Earth itself.
We had an opportunity to
speak with Dana Brown about
the upcoming documentary and
how it will be an exciting sequel
to the original, yet carry its own
unique properties.
SJ: Compared to the first
documentary, what will the new
Dust2Glory entail?
Brown: Unlike the first film,
Dust2Glory will provide more
backstory and inner perspective
to competitors. Plus, we are
going to cover the SCORE

Desert Racing Challenge season
and not just one race. This will
be it's own unique adventure.
However, if you loved the first
one, I think you'll enjoy this one.
