NOW WHAT?
As of late December, Purdue had 14
recruits either signed or committed for
2016, leaving very few left for what will
be a smaller-than-normal class.
With maybe three or four spots left
— maybe fewer — Purdue still has
some likely needs.
Quarterback: If senior Austin
Appleby transfers, the Boilermakers
will be left with just two scholarship
quarterbacks, both underclassmen.
That's a tough spot to be in. The junior
college ranks could be an option here.
Defensive End: JUCO Austin
Larkin gave Purdue one, assuming he
does in fact play end. The Boilermak-
er coaching staff has recruited like it
wants at least one more, most likely a
high school prospect.
Offensive Tackle: Purdue
signed a mid-year J.C. prospect in Ja-
len Neal and has a high school tackle,
Luke Campbell, committed. It would
like one more, with four-star prospect
Sean Foster of Chicagoland being a
target. He visited officially in Decem-
ber.
Wide Receiver: Purdue lost a
commitment from long-time pledge
Nate Johnson, who ultimately wound
up committing to Michigan. It would
like to replace him. Look for Ohio's
Terrance Landers, a long, tall, fast ath-
lete to be a prime target. The three-star
prospect will visit in January, but has
already been on campus several times.

At the very least, he could be a spe-
cial teams candidate early in his career,
too.
