Seminars and webinars DECEMBER 2015 Seminar and webinar providers change their dates quite often. If you plan to attend an event, be sure to verify dates, times and locations. Also, ask them about group discounts. How to network in the digital age As in face-to-face interactions, networking in the digital world de- mands respect and courtesy. Robert Half Canada, a profession- al staffing company, offers tips on the new rules of digital etiquette: Complete your profile: On Linke- dIn, for example, include work his- tory and education, citing significant accomplishments. Request recommendations indi- vidually: When seeking an endorse- ment, ask individually instead of making a generic appeal. Avoid mak- ing quid pro quo recommendations. Value quality over quantity: Build a network with those you know instead of recruiting vaguely connected contacts. Be a joiner: Digital networks link those with similar interests, but refrain from sending direct messages to members of the group without first establishing a personal connection. Say "please" and be respectful: When seeking an introduction to someone in a contact's group, ex - plain the purpose of the request.
