National Dizzy & Balance Center Offers BNA Testing Concussions continue to be a concerning topic throughout all sports. Minnesota Hockey and the National Dizzy and Balance Center (NDBC) recognize the importance of being on the forefront of educating parents, coaches and players about the latest in concussion management. The most recent development in the assessment of brain function is the Brain Network Activation technology. This distinctive analysis system is a sophisticated test that evaluates the point of injury and the brain by mapping its function with live data. The results of the BNA test provides a unique and objective insight, which helps medical professionals make more informed decisions on when a child or athlete should return to activities and sports. Together, ImPACT, CDP (Balance) and BNA baseline will provide a stronger reference point examination for athletes and enable safer return to play decisions. BNA testing was approved in August 2014 by the FDA for 14- to 24-year-olds, and NDBC is one of the first clinics in the metro to offer this new technology.
