SUB-ASSOCIATIONS: Denfeld, Duluth East, Duluth Icebreakers, Congdon Park, Duluth Heights, Glen Avon, Gary-Morgan Park, Piedmont, Portman, Woodland DISTRICT: 11 2015-16 REGISTRATION NUMBERS: 740 PRESIDENT: Brett Klosowski 06 STATE OF HOCKEY SPOTLIGHT WHY THEY'RE AWESOME As with any community association, it starts with the people. "The key to our success is our volunteers," DAHA association presi- dent Brett Klosowski said. "They do a fantastic job." Beyond the people, DAHA also keeps an old-school flair to the game, hosting practices, league games and tournaments outdoors through the Squirt level. Skating outside, sometimes in the snow, takes the game back to its roots. The natural outdoor feel earned Duluth the honor of being the 2016 Hockey Day Minnesota host city on February 6. A UNIQUE SET-UP DAHA is essentially a small-scale version of Minnesota Hockey. The association oversees 10 community sub-associations—Denfeld, Duluth East, Duluth Icebreakers, Congdon Park, Duluth Heights, Glen Avon, Gary-Morgan Park, Piedmont, Portman and Woodland. AMATEUR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION MINNESOTAHOCKEYJOURNAL.COM // FEBRUARY.2016 Duluth Dominic Toninato played for Portman and Duluth East.
