The bellows were made in 1870 and installed in the newly built forges in 1873. In the 1970's, Parks Canada did some restoration work on one of the bel- lows and it was used briefly at the Jones' Falls black- smith shop. Lets talk about how to save water with your dish- washer and clothes washer. Automatic dishwashers and clothes washers should be fully loaded for optimum water conser- vation. Most makers of dishwashing soap and the manufacturers of the newer effi- cient dishwashers recommend not pre- rinsing dishes. This is a huge water sav- ings. WOW. With clothes washers, avoid the permanent press cycle, which uses an added 20 litres (WOW) for the extra rinse. For partial loads, adjust water lev- els on your machine to match the size of the load. Consider replacing your old washer with a New Energy Star rated washer which uses 35-50% less water and 50% less energy per load, WOW. Also consider buying a water saving front load washer. Until next week, WATSON says, think water conservation.
