Issue 38 / APRIL 2012 Vedomir Dekmantel ALBUM OF THE MONTH HOUSE / TECHNO 27 www.guestlist.net GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS Daegon: the creator of sounds that come from the depths of darkness. DAEGON 2011 has been a prolific year for Ukranian producer Mikhaylo Vityk. His releases and remixes under the pseudonym Vakula have gained him a reputa- tion within the house music landscape. Vityk has also released a couple of stunning EP's as Vedomir on Sound- ofspeed and Dekmantel la- bels, and on the latter a new album is out this month. Vedomir's self-titled LP con- firms his distinctive take on deep house music, imbued of jazz and cosmic feel and definitely oriented towards the old Chicago school. The second part of the album is more club-oriented than the first, with 'Scream Kind Morning' that promises to be a massive dancefloor burner; but on the whole, the album seems to be conceived for a close listening from the beginning to the end. Which is all but usual for a house music LP, and also one of the reasons for which Vedomir is our album of the month. Minimal techno ace Daegon (Chad Kaska) has come all the way from Denver, Colorado to London to explore what the underground music scene here has to offer. Embarking on a journey of self-discovery through the creation of music, Daegon applies his extreme talent to find a way of self-expression, and the result is a stunning sound that emerges from the depths of the unknown. Between a hectic tour schedule around Europe, Chad currently finds his inspiration in East London. His recently released track 'Flat 44' is named after the flat where he spends sleepless nights with his senses and instincts sharpened to catch the night vibes, which then he masterfully turns into the dark, slamming sounds that typify his music. NTS Radio / 1st Birthday 28th April @ TBA London EVENT PREVIEW Daegon's name is rapidly growing in popularity among techno artists and fans alike.
