The role holder will work closely with the Head Groundskeeper in the day to-day management, supervision, maintenance and security of Fenner's Cricket and Tennis Ground. Duties include the preparation of sports surfaces to international standards, the presentation of landscaped areas, pavilions and car parks and the storage and maintenance of machines and equipment. The role holder will have particular responsibility for tennis and will deputise for the Head Groundskeeper when he/she is unavailable. Applicants should have experience in preparing high quality wickets, grass tennis courts and general groundskeeping. Vocational qualifi cations in groundskeeping would be an advantage. Experience in preparing cricket, hockey and rugby pitches desirable. Ideally holding their NVQ'S 2 and 3 in Sportsturf and Pa 1, 2a and 6a spraying certifi cates. Full driving licence essential. Hours of work 40 hours per week, together with extra time and weekend working as necessary, for which payment is included in the salary. We are seeking an experienced professional to: • Take responsibility for management and high standard maintenance of the School's magnificent grounds comprising multi sport surfaces, 9-hole golf course, ornamental lawns and gardens as well as surrounding woodland areas. • Ensure an innovative and enthusiastic approach is applied towards long term planning of upkeep and renovation of all grounds and resources. You will possess a strong track record within the grounds care profession, demonstrate sound technical knowledge of industry standards with special emphasis on all health and safety legislation provisions, as well as experience in managing budgets and inspiring a grounds team to achieve outstanding results. A good standard of general education and a full clean UK driving licence are essential. Relevant qualifications in sports turf management or experience of working within a school or college would be beneficial but not essential.
