PRODUCTION & INSTALLATION P R O D U C T I O N A N D P R I C I N G It's all about the details B Y J U S T I N P A T E Justin Pate (www.justinpate.net) is an Avery Dennison and 3M certified instructor/installer with more than 18-years experience installing graph- ics primarily on vehicles. In North America, Justin heads the popular Avery Dennison hands-on workshops and certification program that includes the Avery-Mutoh School of Wrap. In 2014, Justin launched e Wrap Institute (www.wrapinstitute.com) which is a streaming video plaorm with more than 580 instructional videos at 80 hours and counting. WRAPS magazine readers can use the coupon code: TWISDMG to get a 1-year membership for $99 (you save $50!). Follow Justin on Instagram at justinpatewrapper. For every sign shop or installer the primary formula to use is: • Find the perfect balance between quality, durability and efficiency • Get properly paid for the time and effort For simple installs like cut vinyl or flat sections of full print on vehicles there are not that many issues that arise to complicate this formula. However, once installers have to start wrapping mirrors, door handles, bumpers with deep insets and door jambs, the formula can quickly fall apart. In order to keep that formula intact, the keys are: • Let the client's pocket book decide coverage options (give them options for the entire vehicle or specific parts) • Have a very clear idea of the time involved to install properly • Make realistic adjustments for install times based on the material being used 58 • WRAPS • 2 0 1 6
