62 • WRAPS • 2 0 1 6 PRODUCTION & INSTALLATION OPTION 1: Full Coverage One Piece • Install time: 30 minutes • Difficulty: high • Durability: medium to low • Customer reaction: medium OPTION 2: Full Coverage with Mold n' Hold on the edge • Install time: 20 minutes • Difficulty: medium to high • Durability: high • Customer reaction: medium to high (the crowd liked the panther face) OPTION 3: Full Coverage With Two Tone Strip • Install time: 20 minutes • Difficulty: medium to high • Durability: high • Customer reaction: medium to high (the crowd liked how it tied in with the other white highlights on the other parts of the car) OPTION 4: Full Coverage with three large sections of full print/color change films • Install time: 15 minutes • Difficulty: medium • Durability: high • Crowd reaction: high (the crowd really liked the custom factor) Option 1 made me happiest as an installer (and made me an Instagram hero) since it was a challenge. When completed, I felt that the tension on the edges was minimal so it would probably hold for three years, but as an installer, I hate the to use the word probably. At the end of the day, my number one priority is durability. With the other three options, each edge at the front of the mir- ror was cut away with Knifeless Tape and then wrapped over with either Mold n' Hold or a hand-cut two-tone piece. With these three options, they were not as much of a challenge to wrap, but I know for sure they will hold for three years. With either option—one piece or in sections—it's best to give the client options based on price. A good tip when pricing one piece is to build a re-do into the price as it will help ensure a profit if it starts to fail in a few months. This can make the one-piece price significantly higher, but if the client is willing to pay for it then everyone wins. If it does not fail you have a great overall profit; if it does have to be redone, a profit is still achieved. Full Print Mirrors During a sign show in Brazil, I wrapped the same car six times during the week with a variety of calendar full-print/color-change films and each time I tried a different approach to the mirrors. Here are four different options for full-print mirrors. 1. 2. 3. 4.
