Once cleaned, I recommend a final wipe with isopropyl alcohol (70 percent/30 percent water mixture) to loosen any debris from the surface, followed by a second dry towel wipe-down to guarantee good adhesion. Prime: Once the vehicle is clean and dry, the next step is to use a primer to assure enhanced bonding between the film's adhesive and the substrate. I use 3M Primer 94 and apply it to all of the deep grooves and channels of the vehicle. Once applied, it must rest for a period of five min- utes to set, but graphics must then be applied to the primed areas within an hour or primer application must be repeated. The graphic panels can be applied horizontally or vertically. Maintain approximately a 6" edge of the film not adhered to the vehicle working your way toward that open edge. This will prevent trapping any air. Never work from the edge of the graphic toward the center or from an open edge to a sealed edge, such as where the panels overlap.
