MEN'S BASKETBALL
"In my time here, we've been through
it all," junior guard Demetrius Jackson
said after the win over the Tar Heels.
"We've been down nine, down 18 or 20.
"You just never give up and keep
fighting. Those guys [at UNC] are really
tough on the glass, but we battled in the
paint. We made game-winning plays
when it counted."
That victory was magnified on a na-
tional stage, because the Irish hosted
ESPN's College GameDay for the sec-
ond time in four seasons.
"One thing I'm really proud of is
when we've been under the bright lights
and on the big stage, we've flat out de-
livered," Brey said following the win
over UNC. "I couldn't be happier for
them.
"We've been on a pretty good run
against Duke and North Carolina. To
be 6-1 against them is really powerful."
Junior guard Demetrius Jackson scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds to help the Irish knock off
North Carolina, 80-76, Feb. 6.
