PCA Enhances Youth Hockey
Culture in Minnesota
Minnesota Hockey has partnered with the
Minnesota chapter of the Positive Coaching
Alliance (PCA) to ensure that all youth players
in Minnesota have a positive athletic experi-
ence. PCA, a national non-profit, has been pro-
moting a positive, character-building athletic
environment since 1998 and has now impacted
more than four million youth athletes.
As part of the partnership, associations can
apply through Minnesota Hockey for a grant
to help fund PCA parent workshops, which
are designed to help parents raise winners in
life through sports. Grants are available for
associations that are new and current part-
ners with PCA.
"This partnership with PCA will help
us make enormous strides to enhance the
culture of youth hockey in Minnesota," said
Steve Morse, Chair of Minnesota Hockey's
Hockey Education Program (HEP). "Every
parent wants the best for the kids, but many
often forget the most important thing for kids
in sports is to have fun. These parent work-
shops will serve as a reminder of that, as well
as provide insight into how to make a child's
experience in sports an exceptional one."
