The device is designed to replace existing RV awning light fixtures with energy-efficient, long-lasting LED lighting – plus a premium-sounding hard-wired Bluetooth speaker. The RV Media speaker and awning light easily replaces an existing light with a two-wire connection. The speaker light is hard-wired to the RV, so there are no batteries to replace. "The outdoor media options are becoming pretty popular," says KING National Sales Manager Shawn Winn. "That's great if you're buying a new travel trailer or coach. If you own something from before that was an option, this is an easy install and a way to upgrade not only the porch light, but give you that outdoor entertainment system. It's a great way for a dealer to add value to stock they're trying to move or people upgrading the coach or travel trailer they have." The speaker light is 13.5 inches long by 5.5 inches wide by 2.25 inches deep and comes in either black or white housing. It also comes in standard or pre- mium models. Both models play music from any Bluetooth-enabled smart device, but the pre- mium model has extra fea- tures such as RGB LED lighting and a music equal- izer system, both of which can be controlled via a free downloadable App. Winn says that although a large light is being replaced with smaller lights, the user actually is gaining a brighter light. "If you look at the porch lights that exist out there, it's one incandescent bulb," he says. "You're replacing that on our standard version with 45 bright light LEDs. Instead of the lights beaming off the side of the vehicle, these lights are actually aiming down. It's illuminating the ground around the doorway where you want it illuminated. Pairing it with the Bluetooth speaker, we're allowing two upgrades at the same time." The RGB lights on the premium model allow the user to cycle through a variety of colors, or even to select a yellow "bug light".
