50 • RV PRO • MARCH 2016 rv-pro.com Land 'N' Sea/Bell Show Product Winners DISTRIBUTOR BEST OF SHOW Offering Accurate Remote Monitoring for RV LP Tanks AP Products, Coldwater, Mich., introduces the LPG Tank √, which offers RVers the ability to get more accurate measurement on the contents of their LP tanks while still inside their coach or even remotely via a smartphone App. With the LPG Tank √ from AP Products, multiple tanks can be monitored using devices that are semi-permanently mounted to the bottom of the tank and electronically measure the level of fuel. "The electronic sensor is capable of very accurately measuring the level of fuel in the tank," says Product Representative Tom Manning, "and communicates that information to either a monitor in the coach or, any smart device through Bluetooth technology." The optional monitor may be installed in a coach for easy access and the fuel level is updated every five seconds. If the user is already equipped with his own smart device, a free downloadable App is available that is compatible with either IPhone or Droid devices. The App has many capabilities and can be configured to meet most any needs of the user. It is pre-programmed for 20-, 30- or 40-pound tanks that are in common use in RVs. However, there are options where the user can change the settings to accommodate larger tanks simply by entering in the physical measurements of the tank into the App. LPG Tank √ comes packaged with three options. The first is two sensor devices packaged with a monitor. The second is two sensors with the customer using his own smart device as a monitor. The third option is a single sensor with the customer using his own smart device as a monitor. Using a smart device actually allows the user to gather more information than is available on the standard monitor. An example of this is monitoring the battery level in the sensor, which will occasionally need to be changed. "The App also gives us the capability to update as technology evolves or, the need for further capabilities come up, we can update the App so you'll always stay current," Manning says. In addition, Manning says some LP tanks have an issue where the tank sits too low and don't leave room for the monitor, so the kit comes with three rubber feet to put on the bottom of the tank to raise it up. As with most Bluetooth devices, typical ranges of about 50 feet are common, so the tank monitor should work inside most any RV. LPG Tank √ comes with a three-year warranty. What Impressed RV PRO: LPG tank monitoring is histori- cally a very haphazard, imprecise art, so the Tank √'s ability to take accurate measurements with a device that easily installs semi- permanently to the bottom of LP tanks and then transmit that data to a device inside the coach or even accessible remotely via a smartphone App is a welcome development. www.approducts.net AP Products has introduced the LPG Tank ✓, which uses an RV sensor to allow users the ability to get more accurate measurements on the contents of their LP tank.
