56 • RV PRO • MARCH 2016 rv-pro.com NTP-STAG Show Product Winners Heavy-Duty Performance Hose in a Lightweight Package Teknor Apex, Pawtucket, R.I., introduces the zero-G RV & Marine hose, which offers heavy-duty performance in a light- weight package. The new 5/8-inch, 25-foot-long hose weighs up to 40 percent less than heavy-duty vinyl hoses, but offers comparable strength thanks to the technology that was incorporated into the product's design, according to Michael Melo, Teknor Apex product manager. The inner core of the zero-G is covered with a G-Force high- density jacket proven by Teknor Apex to be leak-, abrasion- and puncture-resistant, Melo says. The high-density G-Force woven fibers also offer durable, long-lasting wear equal to commercial- grade hoses, he adds. What's more, the interior construction of the zero-G features a Tru-Flex inner core that is pliable, prevents kinking, and remains flexible in cold weather down to 35 degrees. The maneuverability and lightweight features allow for easy hose coiling and compact storage. The zero-G is FDA approved, lead-free and drinking-water safe. In addition, the hose boasts a 600-plus PSI burst rate and consistent high flow equal to a conventional 5/8-inch hose. The hose glides smoothly over surfaces and will not snag or tear. The water hose also features knurled, commercial-grade alu- minum couplings that are crush-proof up to 900 pounds. The knurled couplings allow for an easy grip and attachment to the connection source. The zero-G is assembled in the U.S.A. with FDA-sanctioned materials and comes with a five-year warranty. It is retailed in a distinctive, octagonal carton with a transparent lid that promotes the compact, easy-to-store, lightweight features of the hose at the point of sale, as well as displaying the crush-proof-grade fittings and high-density woven jacket. What Impressed RV PRO: Normally, one might be tempted to think there's not much to a water hose, but the zero-G is actu- ally full of useful features, including the high-density jacket that protects against punctures and leaks and the commercial-grade aluminum couplings that are crush-proof to 900 pounds. And despite the zero-G's heavy-duty features, it actually weighs up to 40 percent less than conventional vinyl hoses. rvmarine.zeroghose.com/RVP DISTRIBUTOR BEST OF SHOW Teknor Apex's zero-G hose weighs up to 40 percent less than heavy-duty vinyl hoses, yet offers comparable strength thanks to technology incorporated into the product's design.
