Hazell has re- cruited 23 of his 68 pros- pects from the "State of Purdue," which he con- siders Indiana, its con- tinguous states, Penn- sylvania and Tennessee, during his tenure. Minutes it took for the Rick Mount bobbleheads to be snatched up on Jan. 2 — and that might be on the high side. The 2,000 miniature figurines were gone as fast as they could be distributed. The approximate number of student-athletes that Morgan Burke made a point to know by name during his 23 years as athletic director.
