EMCEES RACHEL "SELTZER" QUIRICO Rachel "Seltzer" Quirico began her career in esports as a competitive Team For- tress 2 player for PMS Clan and played throughout college at Rutgers University, earning honors in both academics and gaming tournaments. In 2011, she found a home at Cyber Sports Network doing live stage hosting and offline coverage of events such as IGN Pro League, Major League Gaming, QuakeCon, DreamHack, Intel Extreme Masters, Starcraft World Championship Series, Riot's League of Legends and Twitch at E3 and Penny Arcade Expo. Rachel highlights the excite- ment and personalities of the pro-gaming scene she loves with weekly interviews and news shows, and since 2010, she has published over 300 interviews with pro players across more than 15 games. As a host and emcee for well over thirty events spanning Korea, Europe and the US, Rachel is an esport icon and one of the scene's most recognizable female faces. She currently streams on her Twitch channel under "Seltzer." SÉAN "JACKSEPTICEYE" WILLIAM MCLOUGHLIN Séan "Jacksepticeye" William McLoughlin is the self-proclaimed "most energetic video game commentator on YouTube." He currently has over seven million subscribers, close to three billion views and over 1900 uploaded videos. Jack's channel is the most subscribed and watched in Ireland and is one of the fastest growing channels on all of YouTube. He gained major recognition after a shoutout from fellow YouTuber "PewDiePie" and has only grown more and more since. Jack shows a wide variety of games and styles on his channel from over-the-top, bombastic gameplay commentary to more humble and down to earth in his vlogs. He keeps a very consistent schedule for his uploads and engages heavily with viewers and subscribers by answering hundreds of comments daily. ENTRY PROCESS AND JUDGING The SXSW Gaming Awards began accepting entries in June 2015. After receiving a record amount of entries, the SXSW Gaming staff and advisory board selected the nominee titles based on the criteria of each category and with hands-on game- play. The finalists were announced in January 2016, with the winners determined by a public vote and private judging period by our Advisory Board.
