That fellowship is inherent in New England's culture, and is the exact sentiment Brian Milauskas, founder of Kidstock Creative Theater and NextDoor Theater in Winchester, is hoping to foster. Milauskas has been running Kidstock Creative Theater, an organization that promotes youth empowerment through the arts, for 24 years. At Kidstock, children and teens can take classes and participate in productions, learning to express themselves and find their voices. In 2008, Milauskas expanded to a warehouse building adjacent to Kidstock and began a new endeav- or—the NextDoor Theater—with the goal of creating a community- oriented professional theater. "I think that giving back to the community you live in is a huge part of what makes a society really vital," BY MEAGAN REILLY Winchester's NextDoor Theater has all the perks of both a professional theater company and a community theater.
