Cool Skin Tone If you have cool undertones, try colors like silver, grey, magenta, pink, or jewel tones, like emerald, sapphire or garnet. Fair and cool skin is so lovely paired with an icy pink or rose blush. Nudes and plums are great for the lips. I couldn't wait to get my hands on model Natalia's striking eyes and icy under- tones. This look was all about making her crystal blue eyes pop! To give her skin a bit more warmth, I added foundation to give her a fl awless, glowy base. For foundation, I used NARS Sheer Glow Foundation. NARS' cosmetic products might be a bit of a splurge from typical drugstore brands but the result is worth it! NARS' foundation gives a very glowy, radiant fi nish and immaculately evens out the skin tone. Many people think that adding bight colors to the eye lids will distract or counterbalance the feature you're trying to highlight but it's just the opposite—I used a fun purple hue on Natalia to bring out the blue in her eyes. Other shades that will highlight blue eyes include shimmery gold, any shade of brown and lavender. To amp this look up a notch, I gave her a smoldering, smokey eye look by adding a top and bottom coat of pencil liner then lightly smudged it for a softer effect. For the fi nishing touch, I added a complementary berry lip for extra dramatic effect. Neutral Skin Tone If you're someone whose undertones are a mix of cool and warm, you are a neutral. If you're any kind of neutral, congratulations! You get to wear EVERYTHING! My neutral face, Tina, is an interior designer and loves to play with color! Since spring is right around the corner, I wanted to give her a fresh, youthful look com- bining both warm and cool tones that could be worn day or night. To give Tina's eyes more defi nition, I chose a bright peachy-pink eyeshadow, layering the colors to give her lids a playful ombré effect, with matching pearly pink lips. To get a strong pink pigmentation on the shadow, I applied primer to her eyelids to ensure the shadow would stick. Priming the eyes is ideal for creating a blank canvas for color. For an extra "pop," I like to add a dab of shiny shadow that makes the eyes look stunning when it catches the light. Since Tina's eyes were the main event, I wanted to give her face a soft contour. For contouring I like to use a powder or liquid bronzer, or two different foundation colors to create shadows along the hairline, jawline and beneath the cheekbones. I like to work with liquid illuminating and highlighting products on the high points of the face, and seamlessly blend that and the contouring color to create an all over glow, without the harsh lines. I fi nished the look with a subtle, feminine lip and used liner to fi rst line her lip for added defi nition and then fi lled it in with the lip pencil for a matte pink effect.
