The role involves taking orders from existing and new customers on the phone and over the counter while providing technical support. Parts need to be selected, identifi ed, and located for workshop staff and for customers working within agreed discount structures. It is expected that the Parts Supervisor will search out ways of increasing parts and workshop sales through identifi cation of customer needs & help with other areas within the company if required. Responsible for: Overseeing the parts department Responsibilities to: • Ensure that all required parts and accessories are available and offered to workshop staff and to customers • Ensure stock is stored appropriately in accordance with supplier and manufacturer instructions • To ensure security of stock • Take opportunities to sell older and slow moving parts • To maintain and improve parts displays • Make sure that full payments are received for any items sold • Ensure all credit sales are made to accounts approved by the dealership and with available credit • Ensure that authorised signatures are obtained when necessary • Ensure that all part sold and issued are in serviceable condition and suitable for intended use Other Duties Any other duties as and when required by Line Manager that are reasonably within the capabilities of the person and are aimed at achieving the company objectives and goals. Experience: Parts experience is required. Knowledge • Technical knowledge of parts and accessories • Technical knowledge relating parts to vehicle specifi cations • Stock control systems • Good product knowledge Skills • Good numeracy and literacy • Computer literate • Good communication skills • Good administrative skills Personal Qualities Ability to operate effectively within a team Good telephone manner Organised, effi cient approach Ability to form positive and supportive relationships with customers Ability to follow systems and processes with accurately and with attention to detail Hours: 39 hours per week (will be required to work some Saturdays).
