COMMITMENT PROFILE FILM EVALUATION Strengths: J'Marick Woods has great size for the safety position, and a frame to get even bigger. That allows him to cover plenty of ground in the secondary, in addition to coming up and packing a punch in run defense. He has a solid understanding of zone concepts and is able to close ground when the ball is put in the air. He has a natural ball-hawking instinct, breaking up passes or making picks — and taking them all the way back. Areas Of Improvement: Woods will need to continue filling out his frame, probably reaching 230 pounds as a safety when he sees the field in college. He'll have to maintain his mobility and athleticism when adding that weight if he wants to continue playing with the aggressive, fast style that he currently employs. He doesn't yet show an ability to take on blocks on the edge (primarily be- cause he's able to arrive in locations where he's not accounted for by a blocker). Michigan Player Comparison: Ernest Shazor (2001-04) was a big safety with exceptional athleticism. He eventually played mostly in the box as a pseudo linebacker, though Woods seems to be more responsible in zone coverage to remain deep. — Analysis from TheWolverine.com laugh. "Everybody was in the room — Coach Bam, [safeties coach Brian] Smith, Coach [and defensive coor‑ dinator Don] Brown, [linebackers] Coach [Chris] Partridge and Coach Harbaugh.
