COMMITMENT PROFILE Harbaugh thanked Johnson for getting an obstacle out of the way. "He let me know that he was really excited because I'm the first guy that he got to com- mit from Ohio," Johnson ex- plained. "He told me about the offers that he extended in Ohio — nobody has committed yet and I'm the first. He said he really appreciated that. He feels like he can put the story behind him of Ohio kids not going to Michigan. I'm happy that I started that out. "Our talk was great as usual. We just had a real conversa- tion. We were talking and laughing." It's no secret that big-time prospects from Ohio usually go to Ohio State. Johnson is well aware of that, but said no matter what happens he is 100 Johnson is the first prospect from Ohio to commit to head coach Jim Harbaugh since he took over the program a year ago. PHOTO BY BRANDON BROWN FILM EVALUATION Strengths: Antwuan Johnson is a true middle linebacker hell bent on coming forward and plugging gaps. He's thickly built, but maintains solid athleticism for his body type. He's also an intelligent linebacker and has the perfect mental- ity for the position. Areas Of Improvement: Even though he moves well Johnson's athleticism isn't on an elite level, and his build won't wow anyone. He'll need to dedicate himself to the weight room and transform his body into a leaner, quicker ver- sion of what it is now. Michigan Player Comparison: Johnson will probably be bigger than James Ross was coming out of high school, but the two have a lot of similarities. Ross wasn't an elite athlete, but he earned his four-star status by playing smart and being a solid tackler. Johnson has the capability to be an even more stoutly built, but probably less instinctive, version of Ross. — Analysis from TheWolverine.com
