English Summer not enough heat for you? - then read on to find out some getaways to some of the hottest (literally) locations around.
Sahara Desert
OTHER THAN it being ex- tremely hot, what other rea- son would you have to go on holiday to a desert? Bizarrely enough, there's plenty to do during your sojourn to the Sahara. You can start in the ancient city of Marrakech, ex- ploring the incredible Saadian Tombs and Bahia Palace. You can then travel via camel to different towns in the Sahara region such as Quarzazate, Zagora, Erfoud and Errachidia, which all host their own unique wonder. But the Desert itself is the real attraction; just try camping under the stars, or visit an idyllic oasis in Tellougui.
Thailand
WITH AN average tempera- ture of 30 degrees, Thailand is a sweltering hot place to go for a stimulating holiday. Sample all the delights the tropical country has to offer, including visits to the numerous Bud- dhist temples which form the spiritual backbone of Thailand. Conversely, spend a night or two in Bangkok, the capital, for a bustling and chaotic ex- perience. But if the rain is really getting you down, you can al- ways hit the glorious beaches of Ko Tao. New and awe-inspir- ing experiences await you in the Kingdom of Thailand.
If you want to do something different this year as a vacation then may- be volunteering is for you.
