GOLD AND BLACK ILLUSTRATED OLUME 26, ISSUE 5 51 Although he wasn't officially named the starter at the end of spring — Darrell Hazell hasn't done so in any of his four seasons — David Blough played like the No. 1. The sophomore has good command of the offense, showing an ability to make plays down the field in the passing game — he once hit Cameron Posey in a team drill for a 40-yard TD while throwing on the run — while limiting his turnovers. Elijah Sindelar enjoyed a good spring too, but his inexperience and decision-making, being a split- second late on throws and having more turnovers, put him a step behind. It'd be a shock if Blough isn't the opening-day starter. Kicker Tyler Duncan 49 5-11, 190, So. Punter Joe Schopper 31 6-0, 193, So. Kick Return Markell Jones 8 5-11, 211, So. It was only mid-October that he had torn his ACL, giving him only a little more than five months of recovery. He didn't look like he had missed a beat; in fact, he looked better, having trimmed down about 10 pounds to allow him more quickness in the box. Purdue held him out of major team drills, like the jersey scrimmage and spring game, but only as a precaution. Middle Linebacker 1. Ja'Whaun Bentley 35 6-2, 250, Jr. 49 tackles, 7.5 TFL, 2 PBU* 2.
