Griffin Alstott passed for about
1,700 yards and 15 touchdowns as
a junior for his father's Northside
Christian team.
"I'm a dual-threat quarterback,
but a pass-first kind of guy," Alstott
said. "When it comes to having to
pick up a first down, I believe I can
get those extra yards to pick them
up. I think that's what defines me.
I'm a hard worker, have been my
whole life to get this kind of oppor-
tunity."
Purdue wide receiver target
Travell Harris of Tampa is Alstott's
7-on-7 teammate in the summer.
"He has a strong arm and with
how he sees the field, everything's
on point," Harris said. "He reads
defenses perfectly. He's one of the
best out there.
"He can be a pro-style quar-
terback or a dual-threat. He can
throw it or run it. He has great
footwork and the way he reads
defenses, both in real games and
what I've seen in 7-on-7, it's awe-
some."
Purdue will have just three
scholarship quarterbacks on schol-
arship in 2016 in sophomore David
Blough, redshirt freshman Elijah
Sindelar and true freshman Jared
Sparks.
