GOLD AND BLACK ILLUSTRATED OLUME 26, ISSUE 5 92 rector of fan experience. Another humorous highlight of the evening was a video segment called "Things Coaches Say." It was the time for many of Purdue's top athletes to have a little fun with their coaches. "This 'P' means something — it means a great experience as an undergraduate, but wearing it means everything when you leave Purdue," he said. "Wear it in air- ports, wear it everywhere, because you should be proud of all you have accomplished with your experi- ence at Purdue and all you will ac- complish down the road." j 2016 GOLDEN PETE AWARD WINNERS Breakout Athlete of the Year* (Presented to student-athlete who has taken a leadership role): Markell Jones, football; Janae' Moffitt, track and field Spark Plug Award* (Presented to student-athlete who ignites team with emotion- al leadership): Rapheal Davis, basketball; Faye Adelaja, volleyball Coach-of-the-Year: Lonnie Greene, track and field Individual Performance, Single Event: Matthew McClintock, cross country; Devynne Charlton, track and field Play-of-the-Year: Vince Edwards, basketball (alley-oop dunk vs. Maryland) Male Performance of the Year: A.J.
