The printer is a 54" wide roll-based model with a selected set of functions designed for ease of use, the company reports. Features include variable dot imaging with the Mimaki Advanced Pass System (MAPS) to apply ink in gradations, print speeds of up to 211 sq. ft. per hour, and the ability to be configured to run in dual-CMYK inks or in six-color mode with light blue and light magenta. It automati- cally switches to a full 440ml ink cartridge when one cartridge is empty in four-color mode. It is also bundled with Mimaki RasterLink6 RIP software. The com- pany reports that the eight 4" X 4" printing surfaces work well for printing on short sleeves and neck tags. The rubber surface also allows for quick and secure loading and unloading of garments. A groove separating the printing area from the mount allows for the neck collar or a sleeve hem to drop below the printing plane.
