XLR Thunderbolt Strikes Gold Forest River's XLR Division boasts one of the longest running legacies of sport utility trailer production in North America. Its "crème de la crème" product, according to XLR's Stevens, is the XLR Thunderbolt. Ranging in lengths from 38 to 45 feet and UVWs between 12,600 and 15,700 pounds, Thunderbolt features up to three slide-outs and side and rear decks. MSRPs start in the mid-$70,000 range, but with so many popular options available, such as full-body paint, retail prices can top out at more than $100,000. Among the 10 Thunderbolt floorplans, the two most popular are the 415 and the 420.
