rv-pro.com JUNE 2016 • RV PRO • 11 Prime Time for Toy Haulers Prime Time Mfg., a division of Forest River, entered the fifth wheel toy hauler market in 2013 with the launch of the Spartan, designed to be rugged and ver- satile for the most extreme toy hauler enthusiast, yet have all the beauty, comfort and convenience of a luxury motorhome. Spartan passed several long-standing brands in retail sales in 2015 to become a Top 10 fifth wheel toy hauler brand, according to Stat Surveys. The RV maker is outpacing the industry – nearly dou- bling its sales totals from 2014. "In response, we have increased pro- duction rates multiple times already this year to keep up with our dealers' demands who have embraced and promoted the full Spartan lineup," according to Adam Smith, Spartan product manager. The RV maker offers the traditional Spartan in seven floorplans and the lower- priced Spartan 300 Series (unveiled at last year's Open House) in five floorplans. Base MSRPs for the Spartan start at $68,700, with the 300 Series retailing for $10,000 to $15,000 less. Standard across the Spartan brand are 18-cubic-foot refrigerators, a proprietary Jensen sound system, a MORryde Zero- Gravity ramp door, a "Quick Click" patio kit, MCD roller shades, StorMor cabinet doors and LED backlit crown molding, fascia, kitchen countertop edging and toe kicks on kitchen islands and peninsulas. "These are the kind of features that set it apart from the competition," Smith says. He attributes part of Spartan's current surge to the 1245 floorplan unveiled at Elkhart Open House Week last September. "It has a great initial 'pop' seldom seen in toy haulers," Smith says. "It has multiple seating areas and wrought-iron railing aside a grand staircase that leads up to the front bedroom. You just don't see that kind of detail in the toy hauler market." Base MSRP for the 1245 is $81,000, which rises to about $96,000 with all the options.
